The launch team at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida conducted a tanking test for space shuttle Atlantis' external fuel tank on June 15.<br /><br />The team filled the external tank with about 535,000 gallons of liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen just like for a launch. They will then drain the tank.<br /><br />Starting June 18, technicians will take hi-tech x-ray scans of the tank's support beams, called stringers, on the shuttle-facing side of the tank.
